Grasp his fingers. Massage him. Make funny, sad faces and expressions. Use your voice to talk to him.

1 month: Hang mobiles in his cot and say the color, animals or whatever object you hung. When he plays at the mat on floor hang mobiles too. Musical mobiles are great.

2 months: Grip soft rattles and are amused with the various sound.

Baby loves the mirror.

3 months: Squeeze toys to make the various sounds of animals.

4 months: Baby can sit. Introduce books to baby. Turn and read the big prints aloud.

Baby will be able to pick toys and throw.

5 months: Toys that roll and rattles would intrigue baby.

6 months to 12 months: Baby starts to crawl. Cars, lorries, trains that move will
encourage active play. Put shapes into slots. Baby learns about shapes or numbers.

Babies can stack toys. This sharpens his motor skills and will be able to understand shapes,colors and sizes.
Construction toys will stretch his creativity.He will build cars or whatever items.There a wide variety in the market. Buy the bigger blocks for easy handling by baby. You guide him as he assembles the blocks. Always praise your child on completion. Always remember not to force a child if he is not ready for the play. Play time should be fun time.
